Musk oxen, whose population declined in the 19th and 20th centuries, were introduced to Nunivak Island in the 1930's by the US Fish and Wildlife Services. The herd thrived, and some decendents were moved to establish herds in other parts of Alaska. This musk ox is 1⅛ inches high and 1¼ inches wide. The fabric cord is adjustable from 18 to 36 inches.
